Lawler Consulting has worked with Easons on many of their stores throughout the country including their iconic O’Connell Street Dublin store, their Galway and Dundrum Stores, and their HQ in Swords. As part of their capital investment programme, the company completed a refurbishment and upgrade to its flagship O’Connell Street store. Works by our teams included the upgrade of lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, life safety, sprinkler, IT, CCTV, and intruder alarm systems.

Some of the challenges of this complex project included the requirement of work, including the upgrading of electrical switchgear and infrastructure, to take place in a live trading environment. Another key challenge was the replacement of the plant on the rooftop of the six-floor building. Careful consideration was given to the coordination of cranes due to restricted access caused by the location of the Luas light rail track.

Key to delivery was proper pre-planning of work, surveys to get a clear understanding of how the systems worked, and engaging with the shareholders at all stages of the project to ensure a comfortable environment for shoppers and staff and the successful completion of the project.
