Daniel Ring
Managing Director
Daniel joined Lawler Group in 1993 in the role of Senior Project Engineer and in 2007 he became Managing Director of the Practice.
I joined Lawler Consulting almost 5 years ago. From Day 1, Lawler has consistently given me the opportunity to gain valuable experience, both working internally as part of a design team and being out on-site managing projects.
As my role here was a bit of a career change, I was a little nervous about considering this new path, but I felt very welcome from the first interview. There is a very supportive team throughout the company, starting from and encouraged by management. There are support structures in place to assist with role development and upskilling, while also allowing room for individuals to take on responsibility and use their initiative.
As I’ve progressed and grown into the role, I began to get more involved in the training of junior engineers joining the company.
The company is constantly looking to branch into new areas of engineering as the landscape of the industry changes. Lawler’s has a very diverse range of internal teams working on a wide variety of interesting projects, so every day offers new interesting challenges.
I commute from a town 30 mins away, and getting to work in the center of the beautiful city of Kilkenny is definitely an added bonus.
I love my job because everyone shares the same vision and is dedicated to the common goal of providing sustainable engineering solutions for our clients. This truly creates a family environment where everybody is there for each other.
Lawler Group is a great place to grow and develop both professionally and personally. We have wonderful training resources and mentoring programmes to guide you and enable you to perform your job to the best of your ability.
Work-life balance and diversity are important to me, and I believe that Lawler Group also value these. The experience I have gained here over the years will be invaluable to me.
I enjoy working at Lawler as there is a wide variety of people working here, all with different interests. Everyone is friendly so there is always something to talk about. Overall, there is a diverse, amicable, and progressive working culture.
Within the last few months, there has been significant improvement in staff rewards which has increased my motivation. I also get plenty of support from my team members.
Working with Lawler has given me the opportunity to learn and gain more knowledge and developed my skills in M&E design (including the use of design software such as Revit/CAD/Navisworks. I also acquired my membership with IMECHE and MIEI and I am working towards my chartership. I have learned new ways of doing things here which has significantly improved my work performance and productivity.
Lawler has a friendly working environment where everybody is well respected and welcomed. There is an opportunity to grow and learn. It’s a great place to work and I would highly recommend working here.
Excellent company to work for with good benefits, work-life balance, and staff events throughout the year, making for a very social office.
The staff is friendly. Management is professional and very approachable rite from senior management down.
The scope of work is broad, with exposure to different types of projects and there are also good opportunities offered for personal & professional development.
This is a very exciting opportunity to work within this environment. Everyone is very supportive and helpful. It is very exciting to work and learn side by side. In short, I can say, when you enjoy your work, you never feel like you are working, and I am certainly enjoying the work.
Lawler Consulting is a place for equal opportunities where you get the environment to explore your full potential by working on challenging and prestigious projects. The collaborative work environment is the key indicator of Lawler’s work culture where the exchange of ideas is promoted through group discussion and not just limited by specific discipline.
