Midlands Regional Prison

The Midlands Regional Prison, Portlaoise required an extension for which Lawler Consulting won the Design and Build contract. Together with Laing O’ Rourke, Lawler Consulting designed Block C of the prison, taking into account the connecting power supplies. This extension catered for approximately 145 inmates and was valued at €26 million.

In addition to design, the Lawler Consulting team also committed to providing Mechanical and Electrical Services to the building including the installation of a Building Management System (BMS) to monitor building services such as lighting and heating, a daylighting design package, a water treatment system and heat recovery system.
