Claremorris Leisure Complex
Through a competitive public procurement process, Mayo County Council commissioned Lawler Consulting with the installation of a 36.6kWp Solar PV array at its Claremorris Leisure Complex, County Mayo.
The system is comprised of 140 x 260-watt monocrystalline modules covering 253 square meters of roof area. The panels are roof-mounted using a clamp-on system with no penetration through the roof membrane. There are 2 number Fronius inverters located in the first-floor plant room each having the capability of relaying generation information via wifi and ethernet connection. A G10 protection panel was installed to meet the ESB regulation requirements and witness testing was carried out by an ESB Engineer.
This information is recorded and is displayed on a monitor in the reception area so that its customers can see that there is a renewable generation on-site. Past and present PV generation is displayed on the monitor in addition to CO2 offset and percentage of energy saved.
The system generates up to 20% of the Leisure Centres energy requirements and contributes to the local authority’s annual energy targets.
